Hello Simon,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
The file that was removed might be a computer file which AVG detected. In this case we suggest you to restart your computer in safe mode and restore the file that was removed by AVG.from C drive. Please unhide all hidden folders in C Drive and the top you can see $AVG folder, please open the same and restore the file that was removed and this should fix the issue. Hi, i downloaded and ran the free AVG virus software, it ran a scan and said a Trojan Horse Agent4 Elhid.sys virus had been found, clicked to remove and for a reboot then big problem. Got to Windows login screen and no mouse movement to selrct account or response to keyboard. Cant get past account selrction screen, can't do anything else. Computer now totally useless, are my data files still there? Don't know and very worrying. Not at all happy with AVG for turning my computer into a door stop. What can be done? Read that this has happened to others as well but no solution found. Others say keyboard and mouse programmes have been quarantied as well as original virus. Please advise…
Hello Simon,
We are not sure the exact file that was removed. If you are not able to reboot in safe mode, then please try the AVG Rescue CD and see if that fix the issue http://www.avg.com/us-en/download.prd-arl
Thank you.
What files have been removed? I don't know because I can't even reboot into safe mode.
