Cant save files or download documents

Having moved from FREE AVG to paid version, my lap top has become almost unusable.

1) Cannot save files.  ( I looked at this forum for similar but the suggested solution is not available ie, settings, select Ransomware Protections etc - the version I have does not provide any options for altering Ransomware Protections - it is either ON or OFF.

2) Cannot download key files associated with my work…excel file, PDF, etc.  I cannot even download the AVG invoice!!

We'll certainly help you to resolve the issue. Please check the version of your AVG Internet Security (Open AVG Internet Security > Menu > About)  and check if the program is up to date.

If it is not updated, please update the program (Open AVG Internet Security > Menu > Settings > Update) and try to download those files and see if it helps to resolve the issue.

I only signed up to the fully paid version on Monday the 16th July, 2018.  Version 18.5.3059 Release date 20/6/2018. Up to date and still have the problem.  I see other users have complained about the same thing but the suggested solution requires me to go into the detailed settings for Ransomware Protections…as I have said, there is no such option.  Only selection is On or OFF.
