The AVG add ons are still present on Internet Explorer add ons but they are disabled.

I too had an issue removing the AVG web tuneup, which needed to be done before the system allowed install of current AVG Tuneup. I was able to use the AVG Remover app to dump the PC tuneup but the web tuneup was a bit more entrenched. I discovered it was applied as a plug-in within Internet Explorer (which I very rarely ever used). It seems the reason I wasn't able to uninstall it was because it was set as DEACTIVATED in the IE plug-in manager. When I set it to ENABLED, I was then able to successfully uninstall (I think I went through Control Panel / Programs and Features, right-click on program and uninstall). After this I restared and to be thorough, I ran the AVG Remover app again. It didn't find either tune up app, but prompted me if I wanted to run it anyway to clean up any remaining peices. I did, and this part took a little while so I'm thinking it found some leftovers. Restarted again and was able to install the current AVG Tuneup. YAAAYYY!!! =)

I think I have similar problem. I tried uninstalling AVG Web Tuneup but there was no response at all after clicking uninstall. Please advise.
I am also having the exact same probably as everyone else. Web TuneUp refuses to remove itself. I have tried all of the steps listed above. I just bought Internet Security and am unable to install it because Web TuneUp is still on my PC.

I dont know if anyone came up with the same solution, I was too lazy to read repiles so I experimented a little and did it successfully.<br>Go to ,,program files,, and delete ,,AVG,, folders, if there are any<br>Go to ,,program files (x86),, and delete folder ,,AVG web tuneup,, and folder ,,AVG,,<br>Go to control panel and select ,,AVG web tuneup,, and click ,,uninstall,,<br>The popup will say that the program is already uninstalled<br>click ,,ok,, and thats it.
This way I deleted all AVG stuff on my laptop.
I got the same problem too. It is really pissing me off. Web tuneup uninstall stuck at the page like all the others say for over the night and the bar is still running. Vprot.exe error too.

Same problem here. Avg web tune up cannot be removed from the app list/add-remove programme list on windows 10. Since everybody has the same problem why don't you share in public the resolution rather than sending pm's or making us issuing avg accounts only for that reason, or further more why don't you try to fix the bug???
Here's what I did:
1. Used the removal tool as mentioned above (http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe) and allowed to restart.
2. Checked Add/Remove Programs - UGH. It was STILL there!
3. Clicked on it and it uninstalled completely! (Before when I clicked on it, my default browser opened for me to 'remove the extension' which wasn't enabled anyway.)

I used you Download Remover tool to remove AVG Web Tuneup and it went through normally. After the reboot I checked if in fact the program was removed and it was still there.
Hi I've also recieved a manadorty update for AVG Web TuneUp. I've deleted AVG months ago due to an error in which it won't scan. Anyways I've tried to unistall AVG Web TuneUp from the control panel and nothing happened? Clicked on the uninstall/change twice and a message popup stating that its waiting for the program to finish uninstalling or being changed? I would like an email for help removing the program.
I am having the exact same problem. I am running Windows 8.1. I was using AVG Free Antivirus but then downloaded PC Tuneup and Web Tuneup. My computer began running very slowly. I have removed the free antivirus and the PC Tuneup. But Web Tuneup won't uninstall. I have used the AVG remover tool multiple times and tried through the Windows Uninstall program with no success.
