Changing account email address

Hello. I am asking this on behalf of my Mum who I help with computing. Mum has an AVG account that we need to change the email address on. This account currently has her old email address recorded.

Recently, she accidentally created a second AVG account, using her new email address. Given that she created this account by mistake, we deleted this second account.

Now when I try to change the email address on her original account, I get an error saying that the email address is in use on another account and it won't let me change the email. Clearly, even though we deleted to second account, the account has been disabled but details have not actually been deleted.

My question is simple; how can I delete the details for the second account, that we don't want, so I can change the email address on the original account?
