Charged for vpn I didn’t want

i downloaded the Vpn app to try, I did not intend to buy it and I thought I had cancelled it, I was not aware that it had not been cancelled, I have been charged for the year and I would like a refund please as I do not require the service, please could someone send me info on how to cancel and arrange refund
