Hi,
Trying to google something from today I am told by google that "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?"
So, I went to check my network usage and the top-most data consumer since yesterday is the process com.avg.proxy. My experience goes in line with the similar reported issues of this forum*. No other device is connected to my network and no malware seems to be running in the pc.
However, not even disabling web-shield as suggested in one of the issues makes a difference. I even closed all other apps consuming network. Note that com.proxy.avg keeps on consuming network data at a packet rate much higher than the sum of all other apps, so it's not just a "repetition of the traffic" that was mentioned in one of the related issues. In a few minutes it can go 1000 times the number of packets of some minutes of firefox usage.
I have the feeling something went bad for com.proxy.avg after some recent updates in my firewall/router, but I would need your help to debug why is this happening and if there are certain fiware/router settings that are required for AVG to work.
Thanks in advance,
T

Hello, T Aliaga.
We apologize for the delay in responding. Please note that all communication on your Mac goes through our proxy - meaning that amount of the data will be same or similar to the total for the whole device. However, it is strange that it persists even after disabling AVG Web shield. To analyze it further, we need to submit your concern to our senior technicians along with other diagnostic logs.
I have sent you an email with steps on how to collect and upload the data required for analyzing your issue. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder as well.
