I am having the same problem. When the browser scan reaches 75% it just stops there. It is still using CPU and disk but going nowhere. I tried to do the 'repair' of the AVG install but it did not change.

May I know the name of the AVG program installed on your PC?
Also, I request you to uninstall AVG and reinstall it and check if the scan is completed.
