Hello Patricia,
If you have AVG Secure VPN turned on then this is the expected behavior.
When you turn on AVG Secure VPN, the ip address will be changed.
The computer and printer should be on the same network.
Since the ip address is changed, device will not be able to recognize the printer device.
To get this done, you can turn off AVG Secure VPN and start printing.
Thank you.

I am trying to get my new printer set up on my wifi and I can see it on my wireless connections but when I enter the key it says Windows can't get the network settings from the router. Is there something I need to turn off or disable to get this connection. I have AVG Driver Updater, AVG Secure VPN, AVG Ultimate, AVG Internet Security… I tried turning off the VPN but that didn't work. Any suggestions?
Appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshot, Pat. Please restart your computer once & check. If issue persists, you can disable AVG protection temporarily to check.
If it fixes the issue, you can attempt to modify few firewall settings after enabling the protection by following the below steps & let us know the outcome :
Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - Settings - Full protection (left pane) - Enahnced firewall - Enable 'Internet connection sharing mode' by checking it. In the same page, click on system rules & Enable 'allow windows file & printer sharing, remote desktop connections' (1st 2 options) by using the drop down box beside them. For reference, you can check this article.
