Thanks for your reply and offer. For some unknown reason the problem seems to have resolved itself so I no longer require assistance.

Please disable AVG temporarily as mentioned here and try connecting to host server.
Keep us informed about the status.

I am using CoreFTP to connect to a host server but am having problems doing so. I have also tried using FileZilla but with the same result. It may be a problem with the host server, but I would like to eliminate AVG first. I am using 19.8.3108 (build 19.8.4793.544).  Is it possible that AVG is blocking access for some reason?
