Connecting without the App

Most vpn providers allow you to connect without their proprietary app. I need to connect an google TV using open VPN since they don't make an app for it. However there is not configuration information or server addresses or certificate downloads anywhere. Am i going to have to hack this app to extract the information i need to connect with open source client or is there something i'm missing? Why do i doubt they even have a human to respond, nor one that knows what i'm talking about?
