Corrupted file C:/Windows\SysWOW64\mfc45.dll

Hello.  Every time I do an AVG Antivirus scan on my laptop running Win10 64bit, this file is found, "Corrupted file C:/Windows\SysWOW64\mfc45.dll"  I did find questions and answers  concerning this on AVG Support.  I have not taken any steps as mentioned yet.   Why until now, AVG haven't yet solved this problem.  I am using a paid version of AVG Internet Security. Should I just move this file to "Exceptions".
I'm also using a paid version of AVG PC TuneUp.   Do I still need to defrag the hardisk using another software? Thanks.

Hello.  AVG was listed in 'Uninstall Program'.  Did as advise.  Restart and check it was no longer there.  I then installed back AVG Internet Security.  Half way thru, a message under AVG Diagnostics appeared (as attach).  Full installation continued on without problem.  Even did a Deep Scan after installation.  Now I am trying to install the paid version of PC TuneUp but failed. (error msg as attach) Did first time from MyAccount and again tried from AVG Downloads but failed. Tks.

Hello Balasubramanian.  I need your help again.  I wanted to try out the free trial version VPN.  I accidently downloded it together with the free Antivirus.  After installation, found that the main dashboard for Internet Security reverted back to the old version.  I then installed the AVG Removal Tool, as per the link you provided before, followed by reinstalling AVG Internet Security as before.  Halfway thru, an error msg "The action has been cancelled.  You have already installed latest version. (Error code: 0xe001f992).  Desktop home screen and Startup button does not show any AVG link.  But I can see it under C:\programs (x86).  Have tried 4 times downloading AVG Removal tool and running it.  Now halfway thru removal this msg as attach appears.  Tks, Bala.

Thank you for providing the screenshot, Kathleen.
It seems that you are still using the 2016 version. The latest  version is 2017 and it is completely different from the previous one.
It is different in appearance and settings. I recommend you to remove the AVG 2016 version using the AVG remover tool as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0
Please use this link: http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/Antivirus_Free_1817.exe to download the installation file of AVG Antivirus free.
Once it is installed, please follow the below mentioned instructions to enter the license number and activate Internet Security:
1) Open AVG Antivirus free user interface and click on "Menu–>About–>Subscriptions".
2) You will find the option to enter the license number, click on it and enter the license number and click on "Enter license"
The free version will get activated to Internet Security. If the same threat appears do let us know.

Hello Kathleen,

I am sorry to know that.
Please check on control panel "Uninstall Program" list whether AVG Protection is still present.
