CPU Overheating After AVG update

Tonight AVG updated and asked for a restart of the PC to complete the update.  Shutdown seemed ok, but when restarting, it went to the main screen saying "CPU overheating".  It allows me to go into the BIOS, but not into Windows.

Prior to this, everything worked fine.  How can I go about fixing this issue?.  Thanks in advance.

Hello Alpha,
We are sorry to know about the inconvenience caused. Please let us know the exact name of AVG program recently updated? Did you try restarting your computer after some time? Thank you.

After 10 hours (overnight), I rebooted the PC and it went up without any issues.  I'm not really sure what happened yesterday, but I'm hoping that glitch is the last I've seen of it and I'm glad I didn't have to do much to get the issue resolved.

Thank you for all your help

Hello Alpha,
Yes, please try to boot your computer after some time and please let us know the status. Thank you.

The product in question is the free basic version of the AVG antivirus protection.

The PC was restarted immediately and I tried a couple of times within a period of 5-10 minutes.  However, I switched it off and will retry starting it up in a couple of hours.

Alpha,
Pleased to see that you appear to be now sorted.
Thanks for returning to the Community & posting.
