Hello Andy,
We are glad to help you.
Deep Scan: A predefined, in-depth scan of your system that checks your storage drives and memory for malware (including rootkits).
Here is the order of AVG Deep Scan:
All harddisks: Scans all hard drives on your PC.
System drive: Scans data that is saved on your hard drive only.
All removable media: Scans applications that launch automatically when you insert a USB or other removable device into your PC. Scanning removable media may take a long time due to speed limitations.
Rootkits: Scans for hidden threats in the system.
UEFI BOOT: Scans for threats that potentially launch before the operating system boots up, including rootkits and ransomware.
CD-ROM & DVD drives: Scans CD and DVD drives for malicious content.
Modules loaded in memory: Scans applications and processes that launch after system startup or run in the background.
Thank you.
Hi
What are the best settings for the 'Deep Scan' and in what order please?
Currently I have the following settings…
Rootkits (full scan)
All harddisks
Modules loaded in memory
Auto-start programs (all users)
Thanks
Andy
Thank you for the screenshot, Andy.
We'd suggest all files and folder scans. You can select the option as per your requirements.
Hi
I'm not sure I follow… or maybe my question was misunderstood…
I'm asking which 'scan areas' to select in the 'settings' for Deep Scan?
In the jpg below, I've selected Rootkits, then Modules loaded in to memory, then Auto start programs, then All harddisks.
I have no removable media or any CDs, etc inserted in to drives, so I've not selected those.
The settings I've selected… is that the correct order or do I need to change the order?
And have I missed anything?
Thx, Andy
