Thanks Alok
Fortunately I have access to a second computer, so was able to download the clear.exe file. I have, against my better judgement it must be said, cleared and reloaded AVGIS. I now can find no evidence of it on my system. It's not listed in my programs, nor is there an icon on my desktop or my taskbar. At the moment it doesn't seem to be interferring with my access to the internet, so that's a bonus.
How do I get to show that AGIS is actually on my computer. Please advise.
Thanks
Hello Paul,
I understand the inconvenience caused, let's work together to fix this issue. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. However, to download/install AVG Remover tool we need internet connection. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. Please follow the instruction to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool. After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install/activate AVG Internet Security.
Best regards,
Alok.
Thanks Alok

I have just had to install a new Hard Drive in my desktop. The old one was damaged. I suspect part of AVG Internet security was on some of the damaged sectors, because it now won’t load. I get a message saying:
“This application has failed to start because it’s side-by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe for more
detail.”
Previously when I updated AVG in November I had to switch off the enhanced firewall in avgis, in order to access the internet. I now can’t access the internet. I’ve tried to reinstall from the the download file to no avail. I’ve downloaded the remove tool, which doesn’t work either - both demand a connection to the internet.!
The program doesn’t show when I try to uninstall via windows.
My question is::::How do I remove AVGIS without access to the internet - so I can start again. Thanks in advance
