We'd be glad to help you resolve this. It could be possible that you are using an older version of AVG for which virus definition updates have been stopped. Please provide a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of AVG dashboard. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
I've scanned and installed updates to my laptop numerous times trying to clear the exclamation mark in the AVG toolbar icon. I've been using AVG Free for years, and now it has become a problem. I saw where it said my AVG Free program needed updating but I was unable to make that happen. All other updates have been installed and a popup window says I'm up to date and fully protected…but the icon in the tray says otherwise, and the program still says my "Computer needs to be updated." What gives? The only thing I have NOT done (yet) is to uninstall and then try to reinstall the AVG Free program. (NOTE: The same thing was happening on my Desktop computer, and it took an IT expert doing other upgrades to that computer to fix the exact same problem.) I am running Windows 7 on both computers. Suggestions?
