In general you will not be notified. The update will be performed in background. But sometimes to complete program updates AVG prompts for restart. Thanks.

So I have avg 2015 (paid version) and today I uninstall it because I had some freezing problems related to this program. I then download it again and install and everything went fine. I also introduced my same product key but the interfaces are different

Hey Subhadeep, so the mail protection showed in this picture (left box) Imgur: The magic of the Internet comes in avg free version too?
And also, when I was uninstalling avg it showed me a notification to install avg linkscanner while uninstalling the program itself. So, how do I install linkscanner now? because I uninstalled it when computer restarted just to have any avg component out of my pc. thanks!

Hey thanks. Okay, maybe I wasnt notify because it runs in the background but still I was running the previous version of avg until I downloaded the newer version myself, avg has admin rights
Yes, it shows me the version but where do I know if there is one available from the interface? what I have is 2015.0.6081 , I know is the latest but is there no way to check in the interface if there is a newer version?

My setting are the same as yours, and with the past version of avg I didnt move anything so it was set to default however I was never notified of that upodate
