Hello Jeff,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
This issue can happen due to failed update from AVG. To fix this identity protection issue, we suggest you to completely remove and reinstall AVG. Please click on this link to download and run the AVG remover tool http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe
Note: Once the removal of AVG is complete, go to C Drive and delete the AVG remover folder. After which you can install AVG.
Thank you.
I have the AVG Anti Virus Free installed and keep receiving notice that Identity Protection is disabled. I keep clicking Fix It but that seems to work only for a few seconds and then reverts. I tried through the advanced settings but that gets the same result. Has anyone else encountered this? I have a yahoo account, one of the 500 million that may have been hacked, but there doesn't seem to be any noticeable nefarious issues with the laptop or email, yet…
Hoping to hear a solution soon.
Chgeers.

I am also having this issue. I downloaded the latest version and reinstalled AVG. It worked for a while but now the issue has returned. This is becoming very annoying. I have used AVG for years, but now I am thinking of looking around for another security service.
