Hello Brian,

I can understand your concern. Please be informed that the disk defragmentation scan will some time take up to some hours to complete. It depends on the size of data present in your computer. If you think this is taking very long time, then you can change the disk defrag settings from AVG PC TuneUp settings to run it faster. Please open the AVG PC TuneUp->Settings->1 click maintainence->Scroll down for the defrag option and change the defrag type to "Fast Defrag" and save the settings. This will improve the disk defrag time in your computer.

The problem is with the AVG product itself. Their product is nothing but a scam. I've been posting Post-up notes  on their products in stores telling people what crap their product is and I'm going tostart having friends in other cities do the same thing. This  is easily done through Facebook and it's totally legal. There is absolutely nothing any of the morons at AVG can do about it.

disk fragmentation scan won't finish running in mantinance scan in pc tune up.can't fix other errors because the scan won't finish.let it run 45 min.the first time.reloaded the software,has been running 30 min. now.can't believe the scan should run this long.used the software on two other computers took 5 min.

I don't think it's actually doing the defrag.I think it's trying to determine if it needs to defrag.this is under the maintenace sec.all the other items just show what needs corrected & is waiting for the scan to finish for me to tell it to correct what it has found.it has now been 2 1/2 hrs.

Hello Brian,

I am sorry to hear that. In this case, you can disable the disk defrag from the AVG PC TuneUp settings and then run AVG maintenance scan. This should fix the issue.

To disable disk defrag, please follow the below steps:

Open AVG PC TuneUp->Settings->1 Click maintanence->Uncheck disk defrag
Initiate the maintenance scan again and see if that completes the scan without any issue.
