Does AVG conflict with Defender?

Christina, If you're using Win 8 quite definitely Yes. With this system Windows Defender is both an anti-virus & anti-spyware util (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Defender). Otherwise it's just an anti-spyware util but any reaf-time protection should still be disabled. The only residential protection on your system should be AVG (http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=441).
