Previously I was running AVG Smart Scan as well as McAfee anti-virus software together (both with annual subscriptions). They seem to run together okay, until my laptop crashed one day and the IT shop had to reset my computer (at great cost) and advised me to only use one virus protection software program as sometimes they conflict.
Consequently I let my McAfee subscription run out, however the App is still on my laptop, I haven’t fully uninstalled it yet..
Lately the below message from McAfee has popped up:
My question is:
- If there was such a threat, why didn’t AVG Smart Scan pick it up?
- If it is a false positive, should I completely uninstall McAfee?
