Hi Mike,
We're glad to look into this & clarify.
Initially, you can be rest assured that your computer would be protected against emerging threats & hackers, with AVG installed on it.
Reason being, it has an active firewall, that monitors the inbound/outbound activities on your computer.
To know more about hacking, please refer this article.
Regarding mobile device, since you've scanned the device using AVG Antivirus, it seems that it isn't infected.
Additionally, Scam Protection is a premium feature in AVG Antivirus for Android.
It protects you from being exposed to phishing scam websites that might attempt to steal your credit card information, passwords, and other personal information.
You can suggest them to enable this feature on mobile device, to ensure that no suspicious link is being accessed in future.

A family member clicked a link on a phishing email before they had avg on their phone. They definitely got some sort of infection from it because now they are being spammed with constant links and money they won and its all coming through as notifications on their phone. They waited 4 hours to tell the rest of us and were connected to the same wifi network as all our home computers during that time(the home computers did have avg active and running at the time). We downloaded avg onto the phone and scanned and it didn't find anything. Which something is 100% wrong with the phone so that alone is concerning. But my question now is, is could a virus get past avg and get onto our home computers since the device that was infected is on the same network? Also since the email link was connected someone tried to accessing our computer via our wifi and avg caught it. Does this mean they are trying to hack our wifi network now?
