I have recently been given an older laptop computer which runs under MS XP Pro SP3. The previous owner had deleted several items of software including AVC 2015-free. Hoping to reinstate AVG I have downloaded the AVG 2021 set up file but when trying to run this I am told that AVG Antivirus cannot run on my computer my processor does not support SSE2 instruction set. Is this an AVG issue or something associated with MS XP Pro?
I understand that AVG has not since 2019 supported it running on Win XP computers but knowing that AVG2015 was originally running on this computer is it possible to download an a earlier version that does not have the install problem?
It is not possible to upgrade the operating system and since once it is fully up and running this computer will be donated to a worthy cause.
