Yes, it is necessary to uninstall the other antivirus program from the laptop/PC for installing the AVG Antivirus program.

Hi All,

I have an AVG Ultimate subscription and my old laptop crashed. I now have a new laptop which came with McAfee. I would like to use AVG instead of McAfee. What do I have to do to download AVG Ultimate? Do I have to uninstall McAfee first? If so, how is my laptop protected while AVG is downloading?
