Driver Tonic Malware

Hi
TookDriver Tonic Pop Up a screenshot of the pop up, called the file "Driver Tonic-popup", but when I tried to save it to a folder both the file and the folder were deleted. So I took a photo of the pop up which is attached. I hope it will do.
When I try to uninstall "Driver Tonic"  it tries/requests to become the administrator

Hi
Opened in safe mode but Driver Tonic did not appear on the uninstall program list, opened in normal mode and it did not appear on the uninstall list, but was still on the C drive under programs. My son went to hidden icons and closed tonic driver, then went to tonic driver on the C drive and thredded the files and folder. It appears to be gone. Thank you for all your help.

Hello John,

It seems that 'Driver Tonic" software isn't a malware or threat which is the reason AVG wasn't able to detect it.
However, let us check whether it appears under "Potentially Unwanted program" scan of AVG.
Open AVG Internet Security program interface.
Click on "Menu–>Settings–>Basic Protection–>Scans".
Under "deep scan", check whether 'Scan for potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) has been enabled.
If yes, come back to the main interface and click on "gear icon" available near "Scan Computer".
Click on "Deep Scan" and check whether 'Driver Tonic" is listed under the results of "PUPs".
If yes, you select it and select the required option for removing it.
Keep us posted.

My son has up uploaded "Driver Tonic" onto his Lenovo Thinkpad T430s. I have tried unsuccessfully to uninstall,Driver Tonic wants to set itself as administrator. I have run AVG deep scan but it could detect it. How can I get rid of it and what does it do?

Hi
TookThis image is not available because: You don’t have the privileges to see it, or it has been removed from the system a screenshot of the pop up, called the file "Driver Tonic-popup", but when I tried to save it to a folder both the file and the folder were deleted. John,
Thank you for the screenshot. Are you trying to uninstall that program via control panel? Did you used any remover tool to remove it?
Please reboot your device in safe mode: https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-Restart-Windows-Safe-Mode and then proceed with the uninstallation, it should work.

John, will you be able to produce a screenshot (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=AVG-Create-screenshot&supportType=home) of the message in this posts? This will help us to assist further.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Thank you for taking time to let us know.
We're glad to hear that the issue has been resolved by manually removing the files.

John, we are not clear with your previous statement.

Are you trying to convey that the Driver Tonic has been detected by AVG as threat?
