I agree, 588 gb is huge. But how do I break it down? When I run the duplicatefinder.exe, as soon as it completes the finding, it closes, and I can't see what files are duplicates.
I truly am trying to use AVG, but so far am not successful.
Thank you for your help.
Thank you.
I KNOW it was deleted, which is why I uninstalled the 2nd (new) version and redownloaded the original old version which included DuplicateFinder.exe. I cannot do a screenshot, since the program closes when I click on "remove selected".
As I said, I have run duplicatefinder.exe five times, Each time the program closes when I click on "remove selected". Since there are 588gb duplicate files, it takes 15 hours to run. Again, I have downloaded the old and new programs, same result. So that's 75 hours I've wasted thanks to AVG in the last week trying to clean up and speed up my PC, as AVG promised.
If this is the result of AVG "support", I am done.
One of the main reasons I got AVG was to clean up and speed up my PC. 580gb of duplicate files. When i run it, it closes when I am ready to delete the files. So I reloaded, lost Duplicate Finder. Then I find it has been deleted, so had to revert back to the older version. No difference. When I click on "Remove Selected Files" the program just closes. "Following AVG processes failed: "-DuplicateFinder.Exe". NO "support" from AVG. Any help removing duplicate files? Or just cancel AVG?
We had a check with our senior team and they have requested to confirm whether you're trying to delete duplicate files from a particular drive or the scan results show the combination of all your drives (eg, C drive, D drive, external drives).
You can also move the files to external drives and initiate a scan.
Awaiting for your confirmaton to proceed further.
Hello Richard,
We are here to clarify this for you.
We'd like to inform that duplicate file remover feature has been removed in the latest version of AVG PC TuneUp based on user ratings and feedback received for earlier version.
Do you mean that you are unable to access this feature in the previous version of AVG PC TuneUp? Could you provide us with the screenshot of the page you are currently in?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on "Answer" & then click on the "Image" [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Hi Richard,
We checked with our senior team and learnt that 588 GB of data is quite
substantial for the program to process.
We suggest you to break the task into smaller batches, as it won't over tax the program. or upon the results page, please manually locate and delete the duplicate files.
Thank you for your understanding.
Thank you.
