thank you, Avinash, for the very timely reply - I shall give the dynamic scan a go next time - the default position (guess that would be dynamic scan off) does make my laptop drag when trying to work on other online projects - thanks again !

Thank you for contacting us. It is one of the mode in which you would like to run AVG scan. Dynamic mode is the normal recommended which allows you to work on other tasks too. If you change the mode to fast, the AVG scan uses the maximum resources of your PC and you may find other tasks running very slow or freeze, Thank you.
