Hi Bruce,
We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please share us the screenshot of the error message that you receive for better clarity.
Meanwhile, please check the AVG version installed on your computer (Open AVG - Menu - About) & disable email shield once to check if it helps.
I use eM Client for emails and have AVG's Internet Security and TuneUp. All was well until 2 days ago. Now, while I can still receive emails, any message I sent is stuck in the Outbox. The email client reports that "An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions" and points to the recommended port (465).
I've run through all the troubleshooting steps for my email client without success. Windows Defender is OFF, so AFAIK, AVG must be blocking my email app from communicating with Gmail's SMTP server.
I've tried disabling AVG and the problem persists, but I'm not sure the port is completely released without a reboot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
