Email scanner not active despite updates being installed successfully

I followed your instructions last night and this morning on start up all is well.  Fingers crossed that it remains so.  I will be in touch again if it happens again. thank you for your advice.

Hi,
My AVG email firewall protection is sometimes not active when I switch on in the mornings.  Some days it is fine, others it doesn't seem to work at all.  I have tried restarting and this works for a short time, but today it has reverted to "firewall protection not active".  It is enabled in the settings.
Any suggestions?
