Sujendran, I'd prefer to solve the problem myself, rather than use the remote assistance service. Please post instructions on how to fix this.
Sujendran,
This looks like the same problem I posted about a little earlier today ("POP servers for scanning SSL connections")
I have not received a response to that, can you please review my post and copy me the instructions?
Hello Lucian, I apologize for the delay in replying. Your case has been escalated to our higher level team. Once the issue is fixed, we will get back to you ASAP. Your patience is appreciated. Thank you.
After the latest update, email scanner is not working for both IMAP and POP3. (I haven't tested SMTP.)
When using Thunderbird, nothing happens when I attempt to check mail. I tried to use PuTTY, a Telnet client, to connect to localhost on port 5100. I received two errors: "Connection closed by remote host" and "Network Error: Connection Refused".
I have tried to "Delete server" from within AVG and recreated it. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled AVG. This did not solve the problem.
Using Windows 7 with Windows Firewall disabled.
Thunderbird works if I change only the server name and port, to my email providers's information.
Thanks if anyone can help.
