Error message when re-newing AVG antivirus

We regret for the inconvenience caused. Please run the AVG remover tool : http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe to completely uninstall your previous installation of AVG program.
Once uninstalled please use the following links to reinstall your AVG program.
Please click on this link. http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 to determine whether your OS is a 32-bit or 64-bit.
Once verified please use the following links to download appropriate installer file :
32- Bit : http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Internet_Security_x86_697.exe
64- Bit : http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Internet_Security_x64_696.exe

Hi

I've just paid £59.99 for a two year renewal on my AVG antivirus. Followed the instructions Downloaded and ran the different steps, added the license  number got 'success' then the next screen it said it had failed with error code 0xE001003D 'event exec-finished'.

Any help appreciated!
