I am sorry to hear that. I would request you to disable Ransomware protection (AVG ▸ Menu ▸ Ransomware Protection ) and check if you are able to Save the excel file.
If the issue is resolved, then please follow the instructions in this article https://help.avg.com/en/avg_free/17/antiransomware.html and check the Excel file is blocked or not.

I have several users who are unable to "Save" or "Save As…" in Excel 2016.
They are running Windows 10 Pro x64 and 32-bit editions of Office 2016 Professional Plus from Office 365.
I am currently unable to locate our AVG firewall settings (?) to check if the app is blocked or corrupt.
