You computer will be protected from all types of malware, as the issue is only with AVG icon interface.

As a further note, I have confirmed that AVG is indeed running in passive mode on both computers. I really do find it strange that the update would have failed to properly install on TWO different computers in my home (with two different subscriptions as well).
I am really concerned that the update forced my protection into Passive Mode meaning that my computer is not protected from threats by AVG. In fact, I am hesitant to even come on here to post this message given that it appears I am not protected. To say that I am disappointed in AVG is an understatement. I have encountered some sort of problem because of every single major update from AVG in the past year. I think AVG Corporate needs to do something about the people they have working as programmers.

Previous reply from Avinash (AVG Technologies)… Natalie, if it is 18.3 version of AVG that you are using and if you are a paid user of AVG, please contact our technical support team (http://avgclick.me/AVGtechnical) for further assistance. If it is a free version of AVG that you use, please start a new thread so we can collect necessary logs to escalate the issue to our higher level technicians.
