I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue. Make sure that your firewall settings are set to default.
Open AVG Internet Security -> Menu at the top right -> Settings -> Components -> Firewall -> Customize -> System rules -> make sure all the task has been enabled.
Again, Firewall -> Customize -> Network Profiles -> change all the profiles from public to Private. We are here if you need further help.
The firewall is preventing use from accessing our domain controller's shared drives and generally making the network very slow. If I turn the firewall off everything runs fine. We are using AVG Internet Security - Unlimited.
