To install the latest AVG Internet Security 2017 version, please click on the free version option mentioned in this downloads website: https://www.avg.com/download . You will get the free version installed, open the AVG Antivirus free dashboard and click on "Menu–>About–>Subscriptions"
You will have option as "enter license", click on it and enter the license to activate your subscription.
If there is any issues with the activation do let us know.
Dear Cmmunity
This is the second time I am experiencing a situation where AVG surreptitiously wants me to purchase an add-on to another AVG product just to reactivate my AVG Internet Security licence which simply want off after I was prompted to upgrade to 2017 AVG Internet Security. My current licence expires on 30 November 2017 and I have not intention to renew or upgrade until that date. I will be happy if AVG will simply reinstall my existing product or I switch to another service provider because this antic appears to be an extortionist tactic on the part of AVG.

Thanks Bala, I tried but the re-installation didn't work. For AVG Internet Security the options aviable was Trial Version and Paid Version. I don't know is either makes any difference by I got an error message after I tried installing the Trial version.
I find this whole experience very very frustrating to say the least. I just can't understand why a simple upgrade of an existing product should create unncessary problems.

I have finally managed to install the free version of AVG Internet Security. I will use it for a couple of days before I use my old licence to reconnect.
