Hello Peter,
Fake website shield protects you against DNS (Domain Name System) hijacking to ensure you get to the actual website you want to visit. It will not cause you to get any warning while you browse.
Every time you enter the URL (web address) of a website, such as www.example.com, into the address bar of your browser, the URL is translated to the IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the web server where the web page that you want to access is stored.
Fake Website Shield provides an encrypted connection between your web browser and AVG's own DNS server to prevent hijacking and ensure that the displayed website is the authentic one.
Could you please explain about the warning which you want to get rid off? Please share us the screenshot of it. (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-Create-screenshot)

To Whome it may concern…
I was happily using local Gravity DNS (pi-hole) + Cloudflare Family DNS 1.1.1.3 / 1.0.0.3. to protect my children / elders from porn and malware. Than I started to use AVG, a the new Fake Website Shield started to provide "Safe" DNS service all the way from pornhub to china markets. Took me a 3 days to find this extra feature (Ok, its my fault, a reinstalled pi-hole / fixed my router / etc. - but Im a computer scientist).
Getting to my question/recommendation: I see two solutions:
- Either use malware/porn safe DNS service for Fake Website Shield /or at least have as an option, or get the warnings out if I disable it.
- Frankly Fake Website Shield does far more harm than good. Its a FAKE fake website shield. Get it out of your product.
ps.: what is the address of AVG DNS server, so I can block it in the firewall, and get rid of the warnings?
