Haha, well I must sincerely apologise here! I had been running AVG Anti-virus for so long that I'd forgotten that I'd recently switched to Avast and still had the link to the AVG support forum saved so I automatically came here.
So yes, this error is coming from my Avast Anti-virus and not AVG, apologies for wasting your time.
With latest AVG free update it's now flagging the DLL file "ZenStates-Core.dll", which is a false positive. I need to use this for my AMD cpu overclocking tool and have been using it for years without any problems, as have many other people.
I tried setting an exception to the specific file and also to the folder but it didn't help. Apparently the only way to ignore the false positive is to disable the "Block vulnerable kernel drivers" option which obviously isn't an ideal solution.
It doesn't even move the file to quarantine so I can't send it to AVG to alert them of the false positive.
Any ideas for how to get around this?
Thanks!
