This public message is for AVG really. Are you all fed up with your PC starting up with an AVG popup pushing their products? I am. I've used AVG Free for years but I don't for one moment think they are the only game in town. I have looked at forums regarding AVG ads and the message seems to be the same - you just can't stop their popups. So today I have looked around and found some alternatives. AVG management - please let this be a wake up call to you. Too many popups. In this day of feedback and plenty of online alternatives you need to start listening to your user base.
I've moved to Bitdefender (free). Here is another disgruntled AVG user's comment on Tomsguide : "Avg used to be decent, but lately it's been so full of junk it's getting rediculous. Bitdefender is far superior." See: Good Free AVG Replacement? | Tom's Guide Forum
So I am not the only one out there who is a bit annoyed at AVG's popups.
I totally agree with Andrew and will not be renewing any AVG product includeing Free Antivirus. While your ads have been irritating me for some time, you flipped me when I unintentionally installed AVG secure browers which changed many of my default file associations. Now I'm also getting driver update annoyances as well.
If you think annoying your customers is the way to upsell additional products, hopefully you will learn it's not from the sound of the slamming door on our way out. BTW, I won't have any trouble convincing many of my friends and family from leaving with me either.
And for Andrew, before I came here and saw your message, I had already decided to jump to Bitdefender as well, so thanks for helping to confirm my choice.
