File shield will not turn on with MAC Catalina

I have just got a new iMAC and installed AVG free.  The file shield will not turn on.  It works fine on the Windows 10 partition, but not on the MAC partition which has MACOS Catalina installed.  Please advise how to remediate

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused.
Do you have any conflicting antivirus software installed on your Mac? If you do, please uninstall it and try to turn on file shield.
If you do not have any conflicting antivirus, reinstall AVG AntiVirus free to resolve this issue.

Reboot the device, click this link for steps to install it again.
If the issue persists, le us know what would be the exact error that you receive when you try to enable File shield.
