Firewall affecting whatsapp & messenger calls

I am unable to make WhatsApp and Messenger calls on my mobile whilst I am connected to my home wifi.  It works on other wifi networks and on mobile data.  I have searched the internet and have read comments that it could be the firewall setup that is preventing me from making calls.  I can call a number and the mobile on the other end rings but once the other person picks up all I get is "Connecting" and it never connects.
Has anyone had the same problem and knows how to solve it ?

Please follow the below steps and configure the firewall in your AVG program:

Open your AVG program -> Hacker attacks -> Firewall -> Firewall options -> Application rules -> Watsapp and Messenger -> allow the access

Once you configured the program, please check for the isue again.

Is there another way AVG can help as I can see this may take a long time and I use whatsapp and messenger to call my family from home but have not been able to know for a few days ?

I just found this on WhatsApp FAQ page:


If you're unable to make or receive WhatsApp calls after connecting to your Wi-Fi connection, make sure your router's security settings and firewall configuration aren't blocking certain types of connections in order for WhatsApp Calling to function properly.
I do not know how to do this myself !!

Thank you for your reply Roger but I do not have AVG on my mobile only on my PC.  On my mobile I think I have MacFee which is pre installed.  The problem I think is with the firewall on my pc not allowing whatsapp and Messenger calls to be made using the wifi on my modem at home.  Also, when I try and use WhatsApp web I am unable to connect it to the PC.  Its been maybe a week since I successfully made calls and connected to my pc. 

If I use the link you sent me I have to state a product that I use but none of these apply because they are all for mobile phones.
