On my AVG screen it's showing 1 notification, and when I open it, it says it is protecting me by blocking connections from other computers and printers on the untrusted network I'm connected to.
When I open Firewall settings I find my current network is decribed as untrusted. It doesn't say what this untrusted network IS; it's just "Identifying…".
Below that are listed several nearby wi-fi routers including my own current TalkTalk one. This current one is shown as Trusted. Below that are my nextdoor neighbour's which he allows me to use in needed because he has a fast local dish aerial connection, and sometimes my copper broadband is very slow - it can fall below 1 mbps. This network is shown as untrusted.
Then there are other TalkTalk routers, three of which are marked Trusted. I believe they are old routers from TalkTalk, returned to the company. They send new ones from time to time when I complain about the broadband speed.
I CANNOT CHANGE THESE SETTINGS. I would like to make the redundant TalkTalk routers Untrusted, but if I change the setting it changes itself back. I cannot identify what this "Current network, untrusted" might be. (I do have an HP printer on ethernet cable direct to my computer, and that has the HP Instant Ink connection - might that be it?)
Can you explain what's going on?
