Font list growing...how?

Yes, any program might install necessary missing fonts and yes AVG scans all your computer including font folder.

Even though I have not imported any, I just noticed that my list of installed fonts is growing larger, with many of the new fonts seemingly of Asian origin.  

1. How are these making it to my PC?
2. Do AVG scans examine the fonts folder?
