Free version free trial scam

I tried out your free version which was fine except for the constant harassment to get me to purchase a paid subscription. At some point in time I guess I clicked on a button thinking I was simply updating the free version I was using.  When I realized I was using more than the free version but a free trial I never gave it another thought since it was free.
Lately I was getting emails that my free trial was coming to an end. You know what, I have never purchased anything from AVG and likely never will. I tend to ignore those emails because I have no interest in purchasing something I don't need or want. If it expires then so be it.

Somehow you have processed a payment through my Paypal account for $74.99 without my authorization. This is commonly known as negative billing. I know you are going to say that this is somehow my fault and my problem because I should have logged into my account that you forced me to create in the first place to then uncheck automatic billing that you slip in there from the start suggesting I want to be billed automatically.

You need to reimburse the money you took without my authorization.

Hello Sterling,

We will definitely help you with the refund request.
The charge will be debited automatically only when the auto renewal is enabled for the subscription.
You have signed up for AVG Internet Security (60-day Trial) and when you agree to terms and conditions, it includes the enabling of auto renewal too.
Internet Security is not a free version, you have received signed up to use the advanced protection for 60 days.
Before 10 days of the trial expiry, an email was sent to you explaining that auto renewal process has been started and amount will be debited.
Since there is a misunderstanding, we request you to keep using the product and we will provide 6 months free extension for it.
If you are okay with this, give us a confirmation. If not, you can simply reply here to process the refund.
Looking forward to your positive reply!
