Frozen screen with message: Your antitrack is disabled. Just one more step - Add the antitrack extension to your browser

Started my PC and noticed “Your Anti Track is disabled!”screen which asked me to add it to Firefox by pressing a button while not giving any other option. I have reinstalled AVG to no avail since same screen came up. I do not need this extension in firefox in a first place but why entire software has been compromised?!? Antitrack is disabled and there is no option of going into settings and removing the screen or any other option whatsoever. Do I need to uninstall firefox now to get rid of it, seriously… AVG Team, you can do better…

Yeah, that sounds like a bummer. Apparently, AVG is making the Firefox AntiTrack extension mandatory, and restricting access to Firefox until it gets fixed… even if you don’t want to use the extension. A few things you can try before uninstalling Firefox: Unlock AVG AntiTrack (if possible), and see if it has a setting to disable browser integration or browser protection. For Firefox browser, check Add-ons and Themes, and if there is an AVG AntiTrack, check whether it is disabled or awaiting permission. If it just clears, try to simply remove or re-enable it. Ensure your Firefox and AVG are updated, as problems with Firefox after updates can cause this. If the problem occurred since the latest AVG update, it could be a bug. If so, it would be useful to report it to AVG support as it did not get fixed after reinstallation. I wouldn’t uninstall Firefox just to work around the problem if it didn’t help to uninstall and reinstall AVG. The problem will probably not be Firefox but AVG’s integration with Firefox. Hopefully AVG will come out with a fix soon, as there’s no way to skip or disable the extension when it is forced on the user.

Hi Hellen, thank you for your swift response. I have tried all solutions and after adding extension to Mozilla Firefox it gave me yellow warning sign next to extension icon saying that update was in progress. The extension seems to be working fine now however after opening th AVG Antitrack application it notifies me that 1 browser is protected (only). All remaining browsers are not listed with all previous privacy option not being there at all. It all seems very basic now in comparison to previous version. I have contacted AVG support on general email since making reports via account channel are being blocked by recaptcha (yes, I am half robot). Will wait for their response now.

ok! no problem dear.

Bonjour,

Yes, AVG do better!!! I don’t want to use Edge! It seems the only option is getting rid of AVG for Norton.
