Frustrating Restarts & Freeze-Ups

I'm having a major headache with my Dell Precision T3500 running Windows (11 initially, now 10) with AVG. Everything was smooth for 5 months until a recent update on December 10th, 2023. Now, things are wonky in two ways:

 

Random Restarts: My PC randomly throws up a "Your PC needs to be repaired and restarted" error while I'm working. I reboot, it seems fine for a while, then boom, back to the same error.

 

Stuck or Spontaneous Reboots: Sometimes, instead of the error, the CPU just freezes or reboots itself automatically. And guess what? After the reboot, it acts normal...until the next unexpected freeze or random restart.
 

Could it be related to my hard drive dying? Any guidance, suggestions, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!
