Hi D,

Thanks
A week ago AVG 2015 Free wanted to restart my PC to install some updates. After I had time for a restart it was updated. Shortly after that, I experienced corrupted files after an FTP upload. Not all files, but fully reproducable - with .zip files (like CRC error or invalid compressed data to extract error when opening a PDF in the ZIP file), DBF files (which was corrupted after about a few 100 bytes) or Word files. It happened with FileZilla, our own FTP program based upon Chilkat but not with a FTP program based on native internet classes of our program language. After a long search I found that disabling AVG helped. I found the same problem in this forum asked by George L. on July 8, 2014 and the only thing which helped was:
- Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and rename this driver from 'avgwfp*.sys' to 'avgwfp*.sys.old'
- Reboot the machine
It was something which supposed to be solved by AVG 2015, but clearly it isn't (a reinstall gave the same problem).
What is the cause of this error and what is the function of avgwfp.sys when AVG seems to work fine (again) with this file effectively removed?
