so I performed your recommended 'repair' on the computer and it fixed te issue. I decided to 'repair' the AVG installed on the second computer at the same time. When I click 'repair' it tells me that 'set up is already running'…and I can't get any further. What does that mean???
Kinty, glad to know that your issue is resolved.
For your other PC, this might have happen if other application has initiated for uninstallation from control panel. I suggest you to reset your PC and try the repair option.

I have just installed AVG on two brand new computers. With the first computer I installed AVG and Chrome installed too. However, with a couple of hours, Chrome stopped loading. I have been unable to sort this (even after uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome). I have exchanged the computer in the end…
Now the second new computer has stopped being able to load Chrome.I am now thinking it must be an AVG issue. Anyone else experience this? Shall I move to another internet security provider?
Hi Kinty,
We don't think that this is due to AVG.
However, turn off AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article and check the status.
If the issue persist, turn off AVG Secure VPN and check the status too.
Turning off AVG Internet security has fixed it. Thank you…but it shows its an AVG problem.
Thank you for updating the status, Kinty.
Sorry to know that, AVG Internet Security is the reason behind this issue.
Perform repair of AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article and check the status with AVG protection turned on.
Keep us apprised.
