We're glad to look into this & help you.
Please clarify whether you're concerned about the USB/DVD scan option in AVG Internet Security. 
Also, let us know the version of AVG that is installed on your computer (Open AVG - Menu - About).

I've had AVG for many years and it has done a good job. I recently upgraded and now I don't have the option to scan my external hard drive. How do I resolve this issue?
