Hello "civilians " NOT the so-called Gurus! AVG Free only

Oh, I should have added that I'm not going through the process until the weekend, just to make sure it doesn't overwrite any of my exemptions or other tweeks to avoid false positives, Quickly running it before shutting it down via the task manager I saw it was about to install v18.x.x.x.x, it went too fast for me to memorise the subset numbers.

However I still say component changes should still arrive via the manual invoking  of the "Update now" in the right click on the taskbar icon.

These guys telling you to uninstall with the tools mentioned are barking up the wrong tree.
While this pertains to AVG Free, if you look, you should find a download page that matches your subscription type… Somehow TPTB have made the website actually harder to navigate but I found the page, after two days, that fits my situation and it should act as an upgrade going back to at least v16.x.x.x.x  Here is the URL:
| AVG
There should be similar pages for paid versions.
Next step, I'll need to change my E-mail address soon and one page indicates I'll need CSR help, whereas in the past, I could D.I.Y. on-line, on my own.

OK, this is the page ALL types of users will want.
