Still no difference.

THe google page appears but as soon as I type in what I want to search for it delays for a second and then goes to yahoo

I request you to contact the Apple Support in this case.
They will be able to check the Safari and assist you further.

Hi there, It seems after talking to apple that the only way I can do this is to re-install the whole operating systema nd cant just re-install the browser. I'm not keen on doing this as it will be a risky length process especially as I am on an old OS - are there any options?

I am running High Sierra on an iMac and yahoo hijacks my google searches - I purchased AVG Ultimate to get rid of this but after everything is installed, scanned and rebooted it still happens. Any ideas please ?

Hi, Yep I am using Safari to search with Google.
I have already tried resetting the browser - Removed all history, Manage website data/removed cookies and cleared the cache. Sometimes if I'm fast I can open a new search and it is with google, after a few seconds anything else I open is redirected to yahoo.
When I check the manage website, the Yahoo.com cahce/cookies is back in the list, even though I have just deleted it.
There's obvisuly some other active component that keeps adding this rediection ??
Thanks for your help,
Tony

Hello Tony,

Please follow the steps below and check whether you can use Safari without yahoo search.

1. Disable Extensions and test.

   Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Select and disable all extensions and test.
Enable Extensions one by one and test.
To uninstall any extension, select it and click the “Uninstall” button.

2. Safari > Preferences > Search > Search engine:

     Select your preferred search engine

3.  Visit the site you want it be the Home page

     Safari > Preferences > General >  Homepage
Click the button “Set to Current Page” button.

Hello Tony,

Can you please try to reinstall Safari browser and check whether you are still redirecting it to Yahoo? Also, please make sure you have set Google as home page for Safari.

Please reinstall and let us know the status. We look forward for your response.
