As I understand it, HMA is owned by AVG. As I have HMA Pro, and AVG ultimate, why am I being pestered to install AVG VPN? I'm guessing that it's a built in version of HMA Pro anyway.
Surely it's not rocket science for 2 products from the same company to recognise each other?
Hello Shaun,
Yes, you're correct Hide My Ass! Pro VPN (referred to as HMA! Pro VPN) is a product created and supported by Privax company. This company has been acquired by AVG and AVG Secure VPN is a new subscription product in AVG portfolio accessible from AVG Zen/AVG Dashboard only, activated with AVG MyAccount credentials. Please be informed that AVG Secure VPN and HMA pro are two different programs with the almost same features. However, AVG Zen/dashboard has deigned for only AVG Secure VPN (Not for HMA VPN Pro) which is why you're unable to see AVG Secure VPN active on your AVG Zen user interface. However, if you have installed HMA VPN pro then you can use a virtual private network (VPN), which is an easy way of browsing the internet securely, privately and without restrictions.
Best regards,
Alok.
